New Baby Clothes

A friend of mine just had a baby boy, so I had an over whelming urge to sew up some clothes for him. Gee, baby clothes are fiddly!! But I still had fun, and it's always such a nice feeling when you've finally finished to just stand back and look at the end product and go "ahhhhhh arn't they cute!!!" But I don't know about pattern sizing for babys! These outfits I made were the newborn size from New Look Pattern 6310 but they are a way bigger fit than newborn. Which was kinda annoying, but I know they will eventually fit! But I wanted them to fit NOW!! Anyway, I will get over it lol. Have a great weekend. I'm going to try, just for a change, to make some more pixie skirts this weekend with left over material. Oh and by the way, so excited, I have now sold three pairs of leggings. I'm rapt about that!!

Party Skirt and Bag

Well, after a busy night last night sewing until 11.00pm, I finished these gifts for my daughters friend. Phew!! Talk about last minute. I got it completely finished in the nick of time this morning before setting off for the party. Note to self, don't leave sewing birthday presents till the last minute ok!!

Pixie Skirts and Tutorial

Well, finally I got my pictures of the Pixie Skirts I made, uploaded. Trying to get daugters to pose was more of a problem than I thought it would be though! Gee, I thought young girls like posing for photos in pretty clothes? Well they used to in my day, I'm sure! Anyway I think I'll have to use bribes in future! Hopefully these skirts inspire you to make some for your own daughters, or some one elses. Perhaps a birthday present. Thats exactly what I'm going to do this Friday, as both girls have been invited to a 8yr olds birthday, and I've been advised the birthday girl LOVES pink. Say no more, so do I! Lets see what I can come up with, that could be my next post.

My First Blog

This is my first post, and I wanted to explain why I have started this blog.

Well, I decided since I love staying home and being a SAHM to my three kids that that was great, but I also need to earn some money somehow. As there just never seems to be quite enough to go around, if you know what I mean!! And I do really love sewing and creating things for my kids, so I thought well maybe I could sew kids clothes and try selling them. Now, I'm not quite up to the standard that I think is good enough to be selling my home made clothes to other people, but with plenty of practice I am getting there. I decided every good clothes sewing person needs a great overlocker, so I invested in one, a Brother Overlock 3034D that definately helps the clothing I make look a lot more professional. I am having a lot of fun with my new toy, I just love it!! Except, I am trying to master the flatlock stitch and that is proving to be quite difficult. So am going to have to practice that one alot! Also I need to get some good patterns to use, but I'm getting there! So this blog is just going to be about my everyday progress, the good and the bad lol!! So hope you enjoy! Here is a photo of some leggings I have sewn for my 7yr old this weekend. And following, when my models get home from school, I will post some photos of some pixie skirts I have also made this weekend and a link of where to get the tutorial. Coming up soon!!
